sensory garden for people with dementia

July 30, 2013 by Loretta

My partner Matthew O’Grady, Landscape designer and myself, dementia specialist and Music Therapist have designed an amazing sensory garden for Gladswood Lodge (Benetas, Brunswick, Melbourne). We will be starting this project in mid August, 2013. This garden will tap in to all the senses, smell, sight, sound, touch and emotion. We have designed a planner guide, full of practical activities incorporating  the sensory garden for the residents, promoting physical and emotional independence, socialisation and pure enjoyment. Stay tuned for updates and photos!!
